About Trey Schmitt
Trey Schmitt is an author, essayist, journalist, researcher, and independent publisher whose work examines identity, power, survival, recovery, mythology, technology, and the complicated machinery beneath modern life.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, and now based in Los Angeles, Trey writes with a journalist’s instinct for inquiry and a novelist’s attention to emotional consequence. His fiction moves across contemporary romance, psychological suspense, political thrillers, philosophical fantasy, and mythic historical fiction. His nonfiction confronts economics, public policy, media, disability, addiction, artificial intelligence, and the structures people are often expected to accept without question.
Across genres, the central concern remains the same: what happens when people refuse the identities, systems, and endings assigned to them?
Trey is the co-founder of TRTSKCS Publications and the author of Lyra Wilde: The Celestial Runaway, Lilith: The First Exile, Arsenal of Shadows, The Set Up Man, Idiocy, The Dreamer, The Lost Dreamer, and North Facing Prison.
